ABOUT

The NASA Precollege Sumer Institute at Fayetteville State University (FSU) is funded by NASA's Office of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Engagement (OSTEM) Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) to prepare high school students, especially under-represented/underserved students, for their success in college STEM degree programs leading to STEM careers through their engagement and interaction with NASA's Earth Science.

During the funding period, the Institute will conduct annual two-week residential summer camps for high school students, especially underrepresented/underserved students, focusing on cutting-edge geospatial science & technologies for examining climate change. It is a highly collaborative project with more than 15 STEM partners including NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA / North Carolina Space Grant, North Carolina State University, State Climate Office of North Carolina, NC State Center for Geospatial Analytics, Penn State University, Huck Institutes, Emerging Technology Institute (ETI), SpatialGIS, DowntownDC BID, and various schools/departments at Fayetteville State University.
