Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Track (ABSN)

The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) track is another option for our baccalaureate students. The hybrid, accelerated, sequential curriculum provides an option that reduces time to degree. This program is designed for people with a bachelor's degree in another field who wish to become a nurse. This educational option will incorporate blended learning with face-to-face, state-of-the-art simulation and live clinical experiences. The ABSN track is designed to blend high-quality clinical experiences with the online and face-to-face didactic learning.

What will you learn?

Students will be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) upon completion of the program for practice as a registered nurse.

What will you do?

Graduates of the ABSN program will be prepared as nurse generalists, with a focus on learning the fundamentals of nursing. Graduates will be prepared to work in areas across healthcare continuum.

Admission Requirements

Applicants for the ABSN program are due by March 30th. The ABSN application is available online through the School of Nursing web page. FSU School of Nursing will adhere to admissions policy in the Undergraduate Catalog located at http://acalog.uncfsu.edu/, additional program requirements include:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Official transcripts from each college/university attended
  • Official TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language) scores for international applicants
  • GPA of 3.0 in undergraduate coursework and required prerequisites
  • (3) Professional letters of recommendation
  • Written professional statement of interest
  • Interview by admissions committee
