I’ve really enjoyed being at a smaller university. The student to faculty ratio is 16:1. In class, I am a name and not a number. All of my professors know me by name.
I am a Bronco Ambassador, so I get to give campus tours to prospective students. I remember being in their shoes. The first time I ever came to Fayetteville State was for a tour. I enjoyed the campus as soon as I set foot on it!
There are always events being put on by the Student Activities Council and other student clubs. I live in the middle of campus, so everything that happens is right outside my door. There are fundraisers, food, field day activities, and sometimes there will be a DJ. It's really fun!I'm in the concert band and the Marching Bronco Xpress. While I was still in high school, FSU hosted an on-campus band day for hundreds of high school students. It was friendly right off the bat! Very accepting, very homey, very much like a family, which is really what I was looking for in a college band and a college in general. Now that I'm a student, I feel like I have another family.Fayetteville State is like another home. That's how it feels to me. I've made friends I'm going to have for the rest of my life.
