The mission of the Office of Legal Affairs is to provide Fayetteville State University with the highest quality legal representation.By doing so, the Office of the General Counsel seeks to limit FSU's legal exposure by minimizing legal risks and costs, reducing the need for litigation, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, as well as University of North Carolina and FSU policies and procedures. In support of its mission, the staff in the Office of the General Counsel is committed to acting with reason, knowledge of the law and integrity.
Our Clients
The Office of Legal Affairs represents Fayetteville State University and provides advice and counsel to members of the University community based upon what is in the best interest of FSU. Advice and counsel is provided to a member of the University community solely within the context of the course and scope of the individual's employment with or as an agent of the University. The Office of the General Counsel does not provide legal services or advice to employees or students regarding personal matters. Employees and students should consult a private attorney for personal legal concerns.
