Bronco Kudos Employee
Recognition Program

Starting June 1, 2022, the Office of Human Resources will implement the Bronco Kudos employee recognition program. The purpose of the Bronco Kudos employee recognition program is to publicly recognize a colleague in a positive effort for their contribution to a customer, their team, or the university.

Who is included:

This includes all employee's faculty, staff, temporary, and student workers here at Fayetteville State University.

Nomination Criteria:

  • The employee was observed providing excellent customer service to a student, parent, or colleague, etc. or,
  • The employee went above and beyond, performing his/her normal job responsibilities or,
  • The employee had a great idea or a creative suggestion that was implemented and made an impact

FSU Award for Excellence

Fayetteville State University Awards for Excellence nomination process commences each year in May. The Awards for Excellence program recognizes the accomplishments and achievements of permanent, full-time Fayetteville State SHRA and EHRA-NF employees who do not hold faculty rank.

Awards for Excellence Application

Qualifications for award recipients are:

  • Must be a permanent Fayetteville State University employee (SHRA or EHRA staff who do not hold faculty rank at either college or unit levels)
  • Nominees must have no documented disciplinary actions against them within the preceding 18 months from date of issuance or have no active disciplinary actions pending.
  • Nominees should have made major contributions during the period of March 1, 2021 - February 28, 2022.

Years of Service

Each year, Fayetteville State University recognizes its employees in the following time allotment, for every five (5) complete, consecutive years at Fayetteville State University. Those employees are recognized in the form of a Service Award. It is important that every eligible employee is appropriately recognized for the employees service to the State of North Carolina and to Fayetteville State University.


Larkins Award

The John R. Larkins Award recognizes a state employee who exemplifies the commitment of the late human services leader's work to bring equality and justice in the workplace and his dedication to improving local communities through volunteerism and community service. The John Rodman Larkins Award was established in 1998 to recognize human service, and it is presented annually at the North Carolina State Employees' Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observance Program.

Governor's Awards for Excellence

The Governor's Awards for Excellence Program is designed to acknowledge and express appeciation for outstanding accomplishments that do not fall entirely within the scope of normal duties but are in the nature of a major contribution reflecting credit on the person and State service.
