Sustainability

Sustainability is the capacity to endure. At Fayetteville State University (FSU) we define sustainability as the forms of progress that meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

FSU helps students to understand the economic, social and environmental elements of sustainability and prepares them to accept sustainable development values and norms as responsible global citizens. We focus on these triple bottom line factors or pillars of sustainability (people, planet & profit) to track and measure our progress along our journey towards sustainability. The Sustainability Coalition meets on the 2nd Thursday of January, April, July and October at 2:30 pm in the Chancellor's Conference Room in the Barber Building. We invite you to get involved with this group that oversees the Campus' sustainability efforts. If you are interested, please contact DJ Diop, Sustainability and Energy Manager, at 910-672-1954.
