Joseph Ross
Joseph C. Ross, M.A., B.A. is a Lecturer of Communication and Speech. He also Served as General Manager, WFSS at Fayetteville State University. He was also the Former Director of the Telecommunication Center. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Telecommunication Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Shaw University.
His professional experiences began as WSHA Student Station Manager at Shaw University. He was one of the catalysts in establishing the mass media concentration in the Speech and Theater Program, Fayetteville State University. He was also instrumental in establishing Public Radio WFSS at Fayetteville State University. He currently teaches communication courses and speech courses in the Department of Communication, Languages, Cultures. He also served as General Manager of Public Radio WFSS, Fayetteville State University.
Mr. Ross has and continues to be active in the Fayetteville/Cumberland County communities, statewide and nationally. He has served as Vice President of National Association for Blacks in Public Radio and has served as a board member for a number of organizations, including North Carolina Public Radio Association, Fayetteville/Cumberland County Arts Council, United Way Planning Committee, Friend of Cumberland County Public Library, West Fayetteville Rotary Club, and Southeastern North Carolina Radio Reading Service.
