Womack Army Medical Center and Fayetteville State University Sign a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA)
Fayetteville State University (FSU) announced today that it has signed a master Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC). Womack is a medical center and research facility located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina—the largest military installation in the U.S. by population.

The purpose of this Agreement is twofold: (1) to further expedite the progress of research at WAMC by leveraging expertise and resources at FSU and (2) to facilitate the transfer of new innovations developed at WAMC for potential use in the private sector. According to Dr. Pamela Jackson, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, "We view this partnership as an important step toward linking research, innovation, and technologies developed at Fayetteville State University with the mission of the Womack Army Medical Center."
The FSU technical point of contact for the CRADA is Dr. Daryush ILA, Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology Transfer. Dr. ILA stated, "This agreement will accommodate the expansion of existing research and development collaboration between the Womack Army Medical Center and Fayetteville State University. Prospective future research partnerships are expected to include such wide-ranging FSU programs as Nursing, Health Care Management, Biology, Psychology, Forensic Science, Chemistry/Physics/Materials Science, Social Work, and Criminal Justice. FSU prototyping capabilities will also be engaged. Students will benefit as well, through experiential learning and Civic Engagement activities".
