SAP Next-Gen Lab Hold Virtual Career Day for Business Students

These are challenging times for businesses. Many businesses are planning furloughs and withdrawal of the job offers they already extended before the pandemic. Under these harsh circumstances, Fayetteville State University's Broadwell College of Business and Economics (BCBE) proved the quality of its education programs and its success in connecting students to distinguished businesses.

On April 9, SAP Next-Gen Lab at BCBE organized a virtual career day with INFOSYS. INFOSYS is an international IT company operating in 46 countries with more than 224K employees in the world. The virtual career day included an info session, design thinking session, and interviews.

In the design thinking session, BCBE students were given a challenging real business problem and tested for their problem-solving skills. Selected students were interviewed for the available consultant and analyst positions at INFOSYS. As a result, 5 BCBE students were extended job offers. Hodson McFarland, Director of Innov8 Talent Program at INFOSYS, said they are so impressed with the analytical skills of the students in SAP Academy at BCBE. He also said they offered five positions for now. Still, they also added several others to our talent pipeline for future conversations, depending on how they perform with the TS410 certification exam.

FSU is the only North Carolina institution offering SAP TS410 Consultant Training sanctioned by SAP Germany. Dr. Murat Adivar, the director of SAP Next-Gen Lab, said SAP Academy at BCBE requires working closely with students in the lab, and it was not easy to switch completely online after stay-home-order. He said I am proud of my students for their ability to adapt to challenging situations and achieving great success under these hard circumstances.
