Media Day Scheduled for Recipients of Fayetteville State University IMPACT Funding
Fayetteville State University’s (FSU) Division of Student Affairs’ FSU IMPACT, an initiative to facilitate actionable and sustainable community engagement and impact through academic department clubs and student organizations, has selected the first five student organizations to complete high-impact community service projects through this initiative.
FSU invites the campus and community to get a first look at the impact these student organizations have through the initiative during the FSU IMPACT Media Day on February 14, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. in the Rudolph Jones Student Center, room 123. Various student news and media organizations, along with the FSU student body, will be present to learn more about the IMPACT projects. The event will conclude with a reception for all guests.
After a review by a university advisory committee of faculty and staff, the following organizations and proposals were selected:
- ENACTUS - Community Garden
- National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (FSU Chapter) - Community Day,
- National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice - Backpack Food Program
- Pre-Law Society - Law Clinic
- Student Nurses Association - Scrubby Bear Program
When asked about the significance of the FSU IMPACT initiative, Dr. Juanette Council, Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs said: "Each of the student organizations involved in this timely, meaningful work is a testament to the University's commitment to developing responsible global citizens. I commend our students for addressing real challenges of our community through their respective majors and chosen career fields."
