Dr. LaWanda Miller Named the 2019 CIAA Senior Woman Administrator of the Year
The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association in conjunction with its Senior Woman Administrators (SWA) Association named Fayetteville State University’s Dr. LaWanda Miller the 2019 CIAA SWA of the Year during its annual Spring General Assembly Meeting and End-of-the-Year Awards Reception held in Baltimore, Maryland on May 13-14, 2019.
Dr. Miller, Assistant Athletics Director for Business Affairs and Senior Woman Administrator at Fayetteville State University, says that she is honored to be selected as CIAA SWA of the Year for two consecutive years. Dr. Miller is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports, NACDA Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA), National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), Collegiate Women Sports Awards Committee (CWSA), and Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA).
Dr. Miller is also a 2019 College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) scholarship recipient representing one of five individuals sponsored to attend the CABMA Borden Perlman Convention to be held on June 7-10 at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Miller is going into her 15th year as Assistant Athletics Director and her 6th year as Senior Woman Administrator. She continues to lead a model Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and remains active in several conference, campus, and community initiatives.
