FSU’s Chief Facilities Officer Tai Davis Elected President of NCAPPA
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., (June 15, 2022) – Fayetteville State University’s Director of Facilities Operations and Maintenance, Tai Davis, is the new president of the North Carolina Association of Physical Plant Administrators (NCAPPA).
During his two-year term, Davis looks to build collaboration and growth. “I am honored to lead our chapter this year, following in the footsteps of all the incredible leaders that have previously served in this capacity,” he said. “I plan to concentrate on our future growth while embracing the structure and fundamental values established by our founding members. My focus will be on professional development as we navigate through the skilled trades labor shortage we are currently facing.”
In his new role, Davis has the distinct duty of maintaining the association’s mission of high standards in the administration, care, operation, planning and development of facilities and promotion of professional ideals and standards to better serve the objectives of education. It’s a role he doesn’t take lightly.
Recently, Davis was featured in Blueprint Magazine for creating a new and innovative response structure for maintenance requests aimed at improving student satisfaction. Davis started Bronco Engage, an initiative that has made interactions between students and his department more organized, transparent and timely.
NCAPPA is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes and maintaining high standards in the administration, care, operation, planning, and development of facilities used by educational institutions; for promoting professional ideals and standards to better serve the objectives of education; and for aiding and supplementing the work of the Association of Higher Educational Facilities Officers.
The association is a grass roots organization which serves its members as they provide facilities services. The goal is to provide leadership and technical training in areas such as housekeeping, grounds, utilities, and trades for supervisors, superintendents, managers, and assistant directors to improve services to educational facilities.
