FSU Hosts Actor Da’vinchi On Broncos’ Mute Monday

Fayetteville State University (FSU) will officially welcome Da'Vinchi, actor from All American Netflix Series on Monday, September 14, 2020, at 8:00 p.m.

Sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs, Broncos' Mute Monday is a film series that offers perspectives of historical circumstances, protesting decorum, and the voices of our multigenerational and multicultural student body; where young people make their voices heard. This campus-wide event is open to students, faculty, and staff as our community engages in a live chat that focuses on social and racial injustices.

On Monday, September 14th, Da'Vinchi will hosts the evening event as he discusses his personal views about specific historical incidents that have ultimately impacted our journey towards justice. Dialogue that evokes one's true feelings about issues such as freedom of speech, combating racial injustices, the etiquette of participating in demonstrations and ensuring our voice is heard will be discussed.

Dr. Janice Haynie, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, initiated the call for programming that would strengthen students' civic engagement and social responsibility. As one of the six core competencies within the Division of Student Affairs; one goal is to encourage critical reflection and appropriately challenge unfair and unjust behavior to benefit the welfare of society.

Da'Vinchi, born Abraham D. Juste, is a Haitian-American actor with a cool and magnetic charm. Starting his career in New York City as a spoken word artist and rapper, he quickly transitioned into the world of acting.  Studying the craft under one of his most esteemed mentors, Marc John Jeffries, Da'Vinchi booked Marvel's Jessica Jones, and then obtained a recurring role on ABC's hit show Grown-ish. Da'Vinchi has proven to be a future prominent force in Hollywood playing alongside Ben Affleck in The Way Back, guest starring in the CW's popular sports drama All American and signing to one of the top agencies in the business, APA, in just under two years. Da'Vinchi also has a passion for philanthropy and plans to use his platform to help the youth find their purpose and identify their gifts.
