Calling all Bronco parents and family members!
Parent & Family Programs is committed to forming partnerships with and providing resources for parents and families of our Bronco students. While we encourage students to fully immerse themselves in our campus environment, we realize that parents continue to play a valuable role in their lives. We provide a variety of programs and services to keep parents abreast of life at Fayetteville State University, including a bi-monthly Parents Newsletter, occasional email and web messages, and an annual Parents & Family Weekend that offers a constellation of information sessions, performances, athletic events, and other opportunities to engage in all that FSU has to offer.
Parent and Family Programs is an initiative sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs at Fayetteville State University. The goals of Parent and Family Programs are:
- To support parents and families as their students navigate the FSU campus.
- To increase student retention and persistence by providing resources and sessions that will equip parents and family members to be a critical resource for their students.
- To encourage active participation in the success of their FSU student.
- To provide a pathway for parents and families to reconnect and spend time with their FSU students.

The Council consists of 5 to 7 parents and family members of current undergraduate students that represent a diverse spectrum of degree programs and years. The Bronco Parent and Family Council is appointed by the Director of Student Leadership Development and Special Projects.

Overview of Parent & Family Program Special Events
Throughout the year, we formally welcome Bronco families to campus through personalized events and offerings. Each low-cost or free, family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity to engage on the campus of Fayetteville State Univeristy, experience your student's college life, and make lifelong memories together.
Welcome Week 2021
Welcome Week for all first-time incoming students will take place August 10, 2021 through August 18, 2021. The first day of class is Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Information regarding residential move-in and the overall Welcome Week schedule can be found on the https://www.uncfsu.edu/faculty-and-staff/divisions-departments-and-offices/division-of-student-affairs/new-student-orientation
Residential Parents & Bronco Family Members: During Welcome Week, welcome areas at each of the residence halls will be provided. Please by to pikc up your welcome packet as you move-in your students August 11, 2021 through August 14, 2021.
- Wednesday, August 11, 2021-8:00am-4:00pm (for special group move-in only)
- Thursday, August 12, 2021-8:00am-5:00pm
- Friday, August 13, 2021-8:00am-5:00pm
- Saturday, August 14, 2021-8:00am-12:00pm
Commuter Parents & Bronco Family Members: If you are a parent or family member of a first-time incoming commuter student, you may pick up your welcome packet during check-in at the Commuter & Adult Learner Day on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.
Join us at the Parent & Family Programs Mixer once you arrive on a campus during Welcome Week. The dates for the mixers are below:

Parent and Family Programs will provide supplemental learning to new Bronco families and will also provide valuable resources to returning Bronco families. Our goal is to continue to provide relevant and helpful information to support student success at Fayetteville State University. Fayetteville State University's Parent & Family Programs is committed to engaging, supporting, and connecting our Bronco families to information and resources they need to support their student's higher education journey.
