Dr. Zhiping Luo

Professor/SENCR-MIC Director

Dr. Zhiping Luo received Ph.D. from Chinese Aeronautical Establishment in 1994, followed with post-doc research at Okayama University of Science, Japan, under supervision of Prof. H. Hashimoto, a world-renowned scientist in electron microscopy. In 1998, he moved to USA and worked at Argonne National Laboratory as a Visiting Scholar, and after three years he was promoted to Assistant Scientist (Grade 705). From 2001-2012, he worked at Texas A&M University as a Research Scientist (permanent staff) and a Graduate Faculty member of the Materials Science Program. He joined Fayetteville State University in August 2012. His research focuses on the nanomaterials for energy-related applications. He has published over 290 peer-reviewed articles, and two books in electron microscopy.
