Dr. Lori Guevara Named Director of QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) for SACSCOC at Fayetteville State University
As of August 17, 2020, Dr. Lori Guevara was appointed as the New Director of QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) for SACCOC. Dr. Lori Guevara is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Fayetteville State University. She has been a faculty member at FSU since August 2004, serving as Department Chair from 2007-2009.
Dr. Guevara earned a PhD in 2001 in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the same institution where she received her Master of Science (1996) and Bachelor of Science (1989) in Criminal Justice degrees. Dr. Guevara has taught courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In particular, she has taught courses such as Research Methods, Statistics, Program Evaluation, Criminological Theory, Ethics in Criminal Justice, Criminal Law, Juvenile Justice, and Seminar in Criminal Justice.
Dr. Guevara's research focuses on juvenile justice processing and racial disparities in school suspension decisions. Her research has been published in peer reviewed journals such as Crime and Delinquency, Feminist Criminology, Youth Violence and Juvenile Justice, Race and Justice, Journal of Ethnicity, Juvenile and Family Court Journal, and Journal of Qualitative Criminal Justice and Criminology.
