Dr. Kaycee Bills Awarded the 2021 Invisible Disabilities® Association’s “But You LOOK Good” Inspiration Award
Fayetteville State University (FSU) today announced that Dr. Kaycee Bills, Assistant Professor of Social Work in the School of Social Work has been awarded the Inspiration Award by the Invisible Disabilities® Association. This award is given out to one person in the United States each year, and previous awardees include prolific individuals such as Wayne Brady.
According to the Invisible Disabilities® Association's Executive Director, Dr. Bills was selected as the 2021 recipient due to her inspirational journey achieving a Bachelors, then master's and ultimately a Doctorate in Social Work while living with autism and overcoming bullying. Her research interests promote inclusion among students with disabilities and disability equality. She has dedicated career to social work which has allowed her to give back to the autism, neuro diverse, and invisible disabilities communities. Dr. Bills has been featured in news outlets by The Female Lead and ABC11 for her work with this disability community.
