Wanda Goodwyn

Ms. Goodwyn has been a RN for 32 years, previously a Veteran of the US Army Reserves and Army Nurse Corps for 10 years. She has worked in various specialty areas within nursing to include: Assistant and Nurse Manager of L&D, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Pain Clinic, and Case Management, Nursing Education and Nursing simulation, Nursing academic advising. Her passion and specialties are within Labor and Delivery caring for Mother's during the birthing experience, and nursing education. Currently she is working on a PhD at East Carolina University. Mentors several newly graduated nurses and nursing students to ensure their continued success within the profession. A member of Sigma Theta Tau nursing society and served as the organizations secretary of the Pi Sigma Chapter from 2015-17 at NCCU.

Research Interest

Ms. Goodwyn's research interest is HIV among African American women (across the lifespan and factors that may affect increased incidence).
