Dr. Sherry Leviner
Dr. Leviner is a board certified nurse practitioner and maintains an active clinical practice. She has over 17 years experience as a registered nurse in the emergency department setting. The time she spent in the emergency department has influenced her research interests which include patient flow, the organization and delivery of healthcare, and patient outcomes. Dr. Leviner's research objective is to improve healthcare systems by removing barriers to the delivery of care so that nurses can provide quality patient care.
Dr. Leviner also has experience as a nurse educator in the clinical and academic setting. She started out as a preceptor for new hires and new graduate nurses in the emergency department and quickly learned that she enjoyed teaching others about nursing. Her teaching role evolved to that of a clinical educator who was responsible for hospital-wide education and the new graduate nurse internship. She currently serves as an American Heart Association Instructor/Course Director and Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum Instructor/Course Director and in these roles she provides continuing education to healthcare professionals. She remains active in several professional organizations.
